Doc. Simeon Štěrev - flétna, nar. 24. 10. 1943, Sofie, Bulharsko Ještě dříve než ukončil Hudební akadenii v Sofii v r.1968 zařadil se Simeon Šterev mezi nejtalentovanější muzikanty svého žánru. V r. 1965 je jedním ze zakladatelů jazzového kvarteta Fokus 65. V r. 1967 dostává své ocenění kritiky na festivalu v Montreux. Vedl kursy výuky flétny ve Švýcarsku, Polsku a Řecku. V následujících pěti letech je již významným top flétnistou Evropy. V r. 1968 se stává druhým nejlepším interpretem světa. Od roku 1966 začíná jeho úspěšná účast na koncertech a jazzových festivalech po celé Evropě, Japonsku, Indii, USA a Kanadě. Jeho účast v jazzových festivalech není pouze v tom, že se jich účastní jako interpret, ale také v tom, že se aktivně účastní všech seminářů a workshops. Není zanedbatelná i jeho účast ve světoznámých rozhlasových a TV vysíláních.
Vydal neuvěřitelné množství gramodesek. Koncertoval společně s tak významnými hudebníky jako jsou Chick Corea, Meynard Ferguson, Albert Mangelsdorff, Kenny Wheeler, Jan Garbarek a další.
S. Štěrev je též znám v oblasti klasické hudby, nejen jako sólista velkých orchestrů, ale také nejrůznějších komorních orchestrů.
V současné době je profesorem Hudební akademie v Sofii. Je sólistou Bulharského rozhlasu a televize.
S. Štěrev je profesionálním hudebníkem, který v sobě soustřeďuje neúvěřitelnou virtuozitu a pružnost s vyjímečnou schopností být interpretem jak klasické, tak i jazzové hudby. Zúčastnil se mnohokrát jazzových festivalů v Praze a hrál s nejvýznamnějšími českými muzikanty.
Simeon Štěrev je sólistou I. třídy. Má lehký a různorodý styl. Jeho projev je charakteristický neobyčejnou kombinací klasické zvučnosti a čistoty. Zviditelňuje se zvláště v orchestrálních skladbách.

Before having graduated from the Musical Academy in Sofia in 1968 Simeon Štěrev was placed among the most talented musicians of his genre. In 1965 he was one of the founders of the jazz quartette Fokus 65. In the year 1967 he received his appreciation of critics at the festival in Montreux. He lead the courses of flute teaching in Switzerland, Poland and Greece. In the following five years he became already the noted top flute player of Europe. In 1968 he became the second best performer of the world. Since the year 1966 his successful participation at concerts and jazz festivals around the whole Europe, Japan, India, USA and Canada has started. He not only participates at the jazz festival as a perforner, but also as a leader of seminars and workshops. Neither his participation in the world-known radio and TV broadcasting is to be overlooked. He issued an unbelievable number of recordings. He had concerts together with noted musicians such as Chick Corea, Meynard Ferguson, Albert Mangelsdorff, Kenny Wheeler, Jan Garbarek and others.
S. Štěrev is also known in the domain of the classical music, not only as a soloist with big orchestras, but also with different chamber orchestras.
At present he is a professor at the Musical Academy in Sofia. He is a soloist of the Bulgarian radio and television. S. Štěrev is a professional musician who concentrates in himself an unbelievable virtuosity and a flexibility with an extreme capacity to be an interpreter both of the classical music and the jazz one. He participated many times in the jazz concerts in Prague and played with the most renowned Czech musicians. He made recordings for the Czech radio and television.
Simeon Štěrev is a soloist of the 1st class. He has a light and various style. His expression is characteristic by un extraordinary combination of a classical sonority and a purity. He makes himself visible especially in the orchestral compositions.
